A. H.: Solid, effective, simple

They bolt on fairly easily. While there are holes for bolting to the floor, I decided against it so I could move it later. At 6 0 , I m somewhat tall, so I needed to raise these. There isn t a straightforward way to do that, so I put them on two 2x4s, which puts the spindle at the perfect height for me. They have two mounts for weight shelves one about a foot from the top, and another about 6 inches from the bottom. I used 2x4s for the top shelf and 2x6s for the bottom. Worked like a charm. I have a total of 460lbs of sand and concrete on it. There is much less vibration and flex than my old wooden stand, so I can turn at much higher speeds without the lathe walking around the shop.
