Customer reviewsmy honest opinion
i have had a 10 makita miter saw for over 25 years and it still works great this saw was purchased on that note. The stand is very heavy duty the extension slides are a joke. you cant tighten them with ease and if you put a solid piece of wood on it like a 8x4 piece of oak it will fall The saw is amazing it cuts threw hardwood like butter miter cuts for 5 trim were dead on The slide on it is solid and firm adjusting the compound angles are a bit harsh I don t want to spend 5 minutes setting up a single cut. I should be able to set the saw and cut in seconds. The laser is completely useless unless your cutting in the dark. outside you can t see it at all outside the dust bag was impressive leaving no mess at all to sweep up after cutting about 50 pieces of wood. inside I use a vacuum attachment which also left almost no mess to clean up. I have used the dewalt equivalent of this saw and it does have some better options like the light is spot on for a cutting guide, the compound angles were easier to set. But the motor was nowhere near as smooth and powerful as this saw also dewalt s stand is a joke as well very cheap and flimsy. going off my 25 year old 10 is still the same model they sell today and still works like the day i purchased it. Id say this saw was the better option over dewalt.
