Wow Fantastic machineI didn t expect to like this thing as much as I do but wow, Makita did a great job on this one. It s in the 1 or 2 spot of most gas trimmer reviews on the web and for a good reason. I have a 19 year old Toro 2-cycle trimmer that served me well but it was time for an upgrade. The 4-cycle motor on this power head is stellar. No choke easy starts, incredibly quiet idle, and good power output. The entire package feels very well built and high quality. The power switch, triggers and pull are thoughtfully laid out. Power head means a bit of added cost but then this one tool becomes a Swiss army knife of lawn care.
