It s a great saw for structural metal studs. It s almost like cutting wood studs with a regular saw. The jobsite I work on requires a fire watch when ever you use any tool that creates sparks, however this saw does a good enough job of capturing the steel filings that they don t require me to waste a man s time just standing there watching sparks fly like you would with a chop saw. It s nice that you don t have to feed the material to the saw like a chop saw, you can just put you studs on a set of horses and use it like a regular power saw. I would definitely recommend ear protection, because cutting heavy 16 gauge studs is extremely loud. Eye protection is a given, the saw even comes with goggles.
