NakedtotheBlues: At thirty feet in the air I reach for my I R every time.

Over ten years now I have used various battery powered drill drivers as I balanced my ladder and scaffolds. I was willing to pay a bit more to see if I R could get it right. They did. The LED is spot on and the feather trigger has no rival. Milwaukee, DE Walt, Porter, Makita, Toshiba - none can stack up. This 12V two-speed motor reduction gearing power pack is more than adequate. Pneumatic tools use dual planetary gearing to get this power and control. I R focused much of this tools design on softer, gentler jobs for you George Bush fanatics to inspire trigger finger accuracy and clutch adjusted release control. Light, durable and batteries last for days when not being used constantly. Not sure what is different about this battery pack but I was pleasantly surprised at how long a 12V battery can last when the gearing is right. In short, designed for every day use but delivered in a small manageable package. 12V I R Impact also available for those of you who don t need the control on the light touch side of assembly work.
