Customer reviewsA very good sander
Very nice sander. I m an all-IR guy when it comes to pneumatic tools and this one seems to live up to the standard. I do wish it came in some other sort of packaging. The tray seems like it s meant to look nice on a store display, not be a practical storage solution for the end user. On mine I did notice that after mounting the backing plate, the plate would spin, and orbit, but not randomly I can t think of a good way to describe what it did but it was definitely not a random pattern . I was convinced I had a defective unit. I spoke with three different people at IR and we had decided to do a warranty exchange, but after I hung up the phone I was fiddling with it and sort of forced the unit to move in the axis that had been missing, and from that moment on it s been perfect. Note that this sander needs every bit of 90psi to run correctly. Even the pressure loss between the gauge and the end of a 25 hose is enough to make it not oscillate correctly many don t realize how much pressure drop there is in a run of air hose . The sander comes with a nice selection of Klingspor discs, although most of them are in grits far too coarse for automotive paint work.
