Sehast: Great Saw

While it is expensive this saw really preforms. My first cut was a crosscut on a piece of 1 4 veneered plywood. I could find no tear out on either side of the kerf and I was only using the splinter guard on the guide rail not the one on saw. It has plenty of power and at 5200 RPM leaves a glue ready edge. The edge quality is as good as one created with a router. With the blade access hole taped over the dust bag captures almost all of the dust. I did a comparison test between using just the bag and attaching a vacuum. I found no difference in the amount of dust escaping into the air. There was a little more left in the kerf and on the table. This allows complete freedom from not only the cord but also the vacuum hose. The battery chargers have the batteries ready to go in about 30 minutes and in a pinch the saw will operate on just one battery at a reduced power and RPM. Festool out did themselves when they developed this cordless saw. I own three other Festool products and have some great tools from Milwaukee, Makita and Bosch but nothing compares to the quality and performance of this saw.
