Not much in the way of written directions but if you look at the pictures carefully you can put it together easy. It's very sturdy and looks like it's worth much more than what it costs. It took me about 2 hours to put together, but I'm 74 and I didn't always look at the pictures right and so I had to loosen some stuff and then retighten it for it to go together right. But I love the way it looks and it is very sturdy. Easily holds my 40-inch TV and looks great in the living room.
